Stopped in here on a whim and it was great. Friendly people who work there and know about food allergies. Tasty little treats baked and sitting on the counter top most of the time, dairy or gluten sensitive, some peanut i believe too! All the gluten and diary free treats you could imagine. The prices are OKAY, they are bno more expensive then any other place. Specialty foods are expensive! Keep and eye out for sales!

QUICK EASY TIPS TO LIVE BY!

1. Begin by breathing, its hard to take in all this information, but being stressed by it wont help anything!
2. start by limiting, and eventually elimintaing most refined foods and enriched flours and grains, and processed foods. Most fo these come from white flour containing foods.
3. Begin avoiding hydrogenated oils immediately!
4. eat as many coloful, dark green and bright foods as youd like daily!

my opinion: YUuUuuMMMMMY! but msg :(
Before i start anything, please note they use MSG! Just ask for NO MSG please, but be polite .They will not be able to ELIMINATE the msg, because the broth is already prepared and thats the way its already made to start the soups etc, but they can just not ADD MORE is all.
 SO many options for vegans and even meat eaters! super tasty, and light. Seems to be very clean and fast service, lots of table space plenty of room NEVER had to wait for a table.
I have heard great reviews from several others as well.
I enjoy the Com Tom Noung, its grilled prawn and veggie salad and rice. w. out MSG.

Now, we DID ask for the same things we usually get, sans the MSG and the owner looked at Edward(my boyfriend) rather oddly, paused and  said it was going to be about 8 minutes and  quickly walked away. A little disconcerting but I feel he may not have known what to say to Edward since thats simply the way its prepared. Bottom line, try to be forward about your sensitivities and wants, but be kind and firm. Pushy people get spit in their food :)

my opinion: ummm....ew.

Well, i dont want to totall rip on these guys, alot of people, i have found, love them. MY experiences have been nothing short of horrific. Theyre always cooking things incorrectly, long wait times and empty headed staff. We have had OLD broccoli that i ALSO cold placed in front of us SEVERAL times, wow, really? several?! yeah, that many.
The Salmon is good and i have heard the meat is as well, but it LOADED with salt! LOoOoOAAaded!
The steaks have been cooked for my group incorrectly 3 times out of the 7 weve been and ordered it. They skimp you on the veggies and load them with butter anyhow.
Just wanted to share. If you have perfect BP and liek lots of butter and salt and LOVE fatty undercooked steak and stinky old broccoli, waiting and hour for to-go, or people who get your order wrong, than this is the place for you!

**dont be afraid to complain, we only ate several more times becaus ei was so appauled that i spoke up and used my wit, beauty and charm and got us 100 bucks in gift cards, still, we stopped going, haha.

I was pleasantly suprised to learn that Uno's has a gluten free menu! and not only that but PIZZA! They had some drinks and desserts as well as some salads and dinners. They DO have meat options such as a  "no bun burger" etc, but wheres te fun in that? Why not get gluten free buns? HmMmMM??
It was nice to have options other than salad and sit out on the patio and eat and chat,it's not the NICEST swankiest place but it's nice for dropping by before or after a movie. They are also open pretty late, which is nice for thos elong nights at work and the lack of wanting to cook.

So as you see here, you can have your pizza and eat it too! And if youre not Vegan thats okay too, you have options here!

The Melting Pot

Type: Fondue, fine dining

The Melting Pot is one of my all time favorites as of this point in time. I am BIG on ambiance and candles and musicetc. I have to have dim lights and quiet atmosphere. Ofcourse, with that, usually comes the several hundred dollar check. Not here! Although, if you arent looking for almost 100 bucks per couple, dont go!

I was very pleased with how accomidating they were when i told them i was Lactose intolerant and they also quickly grabbed me the Gluten free menu as soon as "gluten" left my mouth. The menu is complete with wines and drinks as well as dinner options and desserts! Yummy!

I have tried SEVERAL different things and i can say from a non-meat eating, gltuen sensitive,non-drinker, it was still fulfilling and very tasty!

They serve LOTS of veggies and fresh things alongside salmon and shrimp and scallops, and you apparently can always ask for more and more veggies if you so desire :)


** Make reservations, and always ask for a PRIVATE BOOTH, it completes the whole experience!

Eating Right is a ...BEACH!

I have created this blog in hopes of aiding those who would like to begin eating healthy, or have food sensitivities,etc., find places they dont simply have to ALWAYS ORDER SALAD !
A little about me: I am Vegetarian, I am lactose intolerant, I have a gluten sensitivity(not celiacs), and soy makes my tummy hurt.
I am currently living in the Hampton Roads area and like to dine out ALOT .
In my travels and trials of finding REAL places with REAL food for people who REALLY care about what they put in their bodies, I am hoping to inform some of you, and  help you, before you  make all the mistakes i have just to find whats good!
I also travel a little here and there and will be talking about some of the places i chose there as well.
